Catch up

4.3.10

I miss blogging - why can't I blog as my full time job? Pretty please. I enjoy taking photos and researching things and typing away. This week work has taken over my life not to mention having a sore throat and being tired constantly. (I'm going to try and keep this post upbeat.. can you tell I'm struggling?)

How do you cope with stress? How do you make yourself feel better when you're run down and you feel a cold coming on? I have been drinking camomile tea and trying to have early nights. It's nearly the weekend and I have got a feeling I'll spend most of it sleeping. zzzzzzz. What I really want is a trip to the seaside and some fish & chips but we shall see.

So true...

Last night I had a mammoth blog catch-up session and spotted Jen's post which was inspired by a comment I left on her blog. The advice she gave was just what I needed! I'm really confused about the dress code at my new job - some people are quite casual and others (female) wear suits. I'm not a suit-wearing kinda gal. Smart black trousers = yes. High waisted pencil skirt = yes. Shirts = yes. But I can't do a suit. Jen's post gave me the confidence to incorporate some of my style into my work wardrobe. I desperately need a shopping trip for new things!

In other news, please don't forget my giveaway is still running and it's super easy to enter. All you have to do is comment! Click HERE to enter. I also have lots of reviews on products to type up so they'll be up and running over the next 2 weeks.

Love xx

  2. I loved that thing about loving a dog. When I'm struggling with stress I have a little weep into my poodles lovely curly fur. He doesn't mind because poodles like water and he knows that I need him.

Or I go for a walk alone, or with my pooch. They're always good company because they put life in perspective. All they think: walks are lovely. lots of interesting smells today. i'm hungry.

  4. You have my sympathies, when I started my new job in January it was with full on flu, it was awful. And I'm still finding it hard to find time to blog now that I work, I wish blogging was my full time job too! As for how I cope with stress,(the first week of work was hell, I'd get home each day and cry!) lots and lots of snuggles with the fiance! He makes everything better :) Get well soon xxx

  5. Ah Victoria, some of those images are so sad!
I know I'm a little different because my health is so awful (as you know I'm commenting from a hospital bed!) But I just try to stay positive! When I feel run down I just take lots of vitamins, drink lots of water and prioritise so I don't waste energy on things that aren't important X

  6. Oh and about the work wear situation, I'm too confused! Some women wear suits whilst I've seen some others in jeans and Ugg boots! I've just gone for smart casual x

  9. Oh hun, I hope your new job is going ok :S
When I am stressed (which feels like all the time at the mo) I drink litres of tea and cook nice comforting food, I also have baths, pamper myself and listen to music on my ipod that reminds me of fun/happy times, I also read Harry Potter as I find it comforting and I feel like a kid reading a book they love!

As with dress codes, I hate work wear, I can get away with not being too formal at work but I wear all sorts (apart from jeans) as it would be my idea of hell being in a suit!

I need some little doggies to cuddle up to like yours! :)

  10. I always get stressed, my job is hectic, and it feels like I'm travelling all day. Then I come home to my flat, and I still have to decorate, never enough time in the day. I just tell myself to stop, run a nice bath with some lovely smelling Lush products, light some candles and listen to my favourite band. Super relaxing xxxx

  11. I have been really down too recently, some of those images really strike a chord.

Work is so very stressful and I just think 'Why am I doing it?', when I hate it so much sometimes. But its a means to an end for me. A way of staying afloat and letting me blog in my spare time and hopefully, I'm praying I will find a job that I truly love and am good at one day.

To destress, I have a bath, watch a happy, comforting film and hug the boy alot.

We're all here for each other you know, and that cheers me up too :)

  12. Aw girlie, I dunno if its just the time of year but I do feel like there is a wee bit of a cloud hanging around just now :( Its hard to keep your chin up all the time but sometimes talking about it with other people helps, and blogging is the perfect oppertunity! I agree with Eleanor, were all here for each other and we all go through the same shit at some point in our life but thats kinda comforting in a strange way! Makes me feel more sane anyways. Big hugs x
