Turning over a new leaf (& plans for the future of my little space on the Internet)

13.5.10

Thank you to EVERYONE who took the time to comment on my last post. I appreciate all of my readers/subscribers or people who pop their head in occasionally, and most of you said such lovely things. I also got lots of constructive feedback which is great for me going forward. I realise I did sound a little bit ungrateful and I'm totally not - I remember having 3 people following my blog and I thought I'd done really well! This is still the case now even though I have a few more readers.

We all have down days - I guess yesterday was mine. Work is very hectic and it's a continuous learning process which means my mind is often frazzled by the time I get home. When I first started blogging I worked in a very quiet office where there wasn't much to do, which meant I would spend a lot of time blogging and replying to my comments and all that fun stuff. Add a new job in HR to moving house and having 3 dogs to be Mummy to, and this makes a very stressed Victoria!

I promise never to complain about lack of comments again. I don't just blog for comments. I blog because I want to share my thoughts and my life with other similar minded folk and I mistook lack of commenting for lack of reading, which I realise now totally isn't the case.

And finally, you're right - it's my blog! So if you don't like Pugs "clear off!" (just kidding). I shall continue with my random ramblings and variety of posts until you get fed up with me!

I have been thinking up lots of future posts this afternoon and I thought I'd give you a sneak peek at what's coming up on LilylovesLola:

- Photos from my trip to London (sightseeing pics!)
- Eyeko nail polishes (yes, more! sorry :))
- An update on the iPulse home hair removal machine *buzzzz buzzzz*
- Wavy hair of the day
- A guest post from my Sister
- Healthy food - my faves
- Photos of our new house
- My new little garden :)

Lots of love,
xx

  47. I've just read your previous post and I feel like my own blog doesn't really fit into any catergory either but I guess your 1104 followers means you're doing something right!!

  48. @fordgredial - For a minute I thought that was genuine, then I remembered your tweet about me being an attention seeker! lol ;)

Having such a positive response from everyone made me see that my blog is worth sticking with. And I love writing it! That's what it's all about :)

    Thanks for your comment! x

  49. @PinkMademoiselle - Aw thank you, that is very sweet of you to say! x

  50. I just wanted to say that I am one of those readers who loves reading your posts but has never commented before- sorry. I am new to blogging and still finding my feet, but now I know how nice it is to know people are reading I will be commenting more! And yes, your blog is yours- you can write whatever you want!!x x

  51. Glad you're sticking around! Hope I didn't sound harsh in my previous comment because I didn't mean to.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Hi Victoria,

No it is genuine, as was the tweet. I think it was attention seeking before and I think you had lost perspective on why you blog - in fact I think that happened a little while ago which is why I stopped following you (compounded by the fact that you publicly published a horrendous photograph of me that I would never had published of anyone).

But from your post it sounds like you have reflected and are wanting to do it just for you rather than for the 'celebrity' blogging can bring - the whole point of my tweet. Which I think is excellent and that is why I commented, I almost didn't because I thought I would get an off response, which I can understand, but it was what I thought and so I commented. We are very different people and clearly will never be friends but that doesn't mean that I can't respect you as a fellow blogger.

    Happy Weekend!
    Amy

  56. Ooh I'm excited to see pictures of your new house. I'm really wanting to move out and start nesting in a house, not in the pregnancy kind of way mind you!

I read your blog and love it, so I'm glad you realise that we all do love you even if we can't all comment, or forget to.

I'm the same. I rarely rarely rarely get comments, not like others do at all. It's disheartening to think that no one enjoys your blog, and I've thought about quitting once or twice too. Also on Twitter - I'm ignored most of the time on there so what is the point of me even having an account? Still, this is life right?

I'm so glad you are going to continuing blogging and I promise I'll try and remember to comment more! x

    ReplyDelete
  57. So glad you decided to stick around, you have a great blog, and although I don't always comment I always read your posts. Looking forward to seeing new posts from you x

  58. You were one of the first blogs I followed Victoria, we all have our ups and downs and I think in this little community the people who genuinely care will always stand by you :) so big hugs from little blog of horrors! I've had my blog for a long time, and don't have a huge amount of followers or get masses of comments but the ones I do get reassures me that people read the random crap I write. I think its most important that we dont let the enjoyment leak out of it. Have a great weekend girlie ♥ xx
