Tattoo

19.8.10

I have wanted a tattoo on and off for a long time now. I'm 25 years old but I am well aware my Mum would go mad and yes I'm scared! I would happily get any one of these, I think they're all wonderful. But ultimately I would get a unique design. One that I would hope I'd never regret!

Do you have a tattoo? If so, share the details!

ha - can you imagine a Pug version of this! ;)

I've got one on my foot, I have Espoir in all swirly writing...which is French for hope. I love it and have got the ink bug and can't wait to get my next one.
I'm like you and want something really unique that no one else will have.
Can't wait to see if you get one! :)

With my first one my mum and dad went mad, then 3 months later my mum decided she wanted one hehe!

    Just go for it :)

  7. Love the cage & bird one. I have a dragonfly on my back. Got it when I graduated high school and while it's nice and relatively unique (I designed it myself and the antenna is in the shape of my initial), I'm not sure if it suits me all that well anymore. xx

  8. I love the last one!! Really simple but beautiful. It's actually quite similar to one my friend is designing for me! :)

My mom didn't speak to me for a week when I had my first tattoo...mind you...I was 17 at the time! She went absolutely bezerk!! Whoops! :)

  10. i love tattoo's as long as they mean something to the person. i got mine done the summer before i started university as a reminder to myself that i can do anything i set my mind to and to never give up. (it's a lion's face)
all i'd say is to not rush into a tattoo, and make sure the tattoo itself and the reason your getting it done is meaningful to you. xxxx

  12. I love all of the ones with the birds, especially the one with the bird cage. I've never really considered a tattoo but these are all really beautiful xx

  14. I have four, at the moment. Thinking of getting more!

I've got a seahorse on the left side of my tummy that I got matching with my mum for my 18th birthday. (obviously hers isn't on her tummy as well, haha.) This one hurt the most for me, I almost cried by the time it was done.

Then I have both my wrists done.. my right wrist has a K with a four leaf clover and my left has a koi fish with cherry blossoms and water. The left is unfinished though. :( These were really easy to sit through, the pain wasn't bad.

My last (and most recent, from almost a year ago) is the words 'make sure you carry torches when they're putting out your candles' on the back of my calves. (half on one, half on the other.) I'm going to sound like an absolute nut here, but this one felt good. Like I'd probably go back every single month and get the back of my calves tattooed if it was possible.

My best advice would be to get something you're really sure of. Even if it takes a year or more to decide on, it's worth waiting. Also, never let anyone tell you your tattoo is 'stupid'.. I got a whole bunch of crap for getting the back of my calves done, but at the end of the day it held meaning for me and that was all that mattered. :)

Whew, sorry for the novel. I just got massively excited seeing a tattoo post. >.<

  15. I absolutely love that first tattoo...I'm thinking of getting a Shakespeare quote for my next tattoo and it's either going to be on my back (like Angelina's Know Your Rights one) or on the wrist like that....which do you think would be better?! I've already got 3 more and mum told me I was stupid every time! They get over it though :D

  16. With my first (tiny) tattoo I just did it. However, with my 'real' tattoo I went and found a design and a studio and booked it for a few months time. A week before the appointment I met my mum and explained what I has having done, where and why. Told her she had a week to raise any concerns and try to talk me out of it but past that I wanted her to either ignore it or embrace it because I love her and her support is important to me and it wasn't something I wanted to fall out about. It actually worked really well!!

  17. I have some outlines of black stars on my back(sort of in the middle), i got them when i was 21 and split with a long term bf. I really like that people don't get to see them unless i choose for them too. I was terrified of my parents reaction to them as they hate tattoos but my mum actually thinks its nice and my dad has never mentioned it! x

  19. I do have a tattoo in the 'tramp stamp' area (whatever!). It's a fancy 'J' with a rose intertwined. Since my first and middle name are 'Jenessa Rose.'
Can't wait to see what you get! If you get one...

  20. I think you should get one!
I have 2 so far but really want another one. I have a dolphin on my left shoulder - which i found so relaxing when i had it done. My second is a heart shaped pattern at the bottom of my back. i want something to do with stars next but not sure what or where to have it, been pondering for a while now haha!

  21. I have 3/4 (I got one added to) tattoos & I love them all. I think you need to have a proper long think if you actually would like one FOREVER and make sure you go to a trusted tattoo artist- I have one that could have been done better. Obv it is there FOREVER!!! Mine are in places that can be hidden, but that doesnt mean I won't get one on my wrist etc one day- I probably will!
All my tattoos mean something to me, so I think even if I do stop liking them, the meaning would still be there & I dont think I;ll regret them.
When Im old and granny they will probably all be mashed up anyway and no one will see them. I've done a post about my tattoos on my blog if your intrested. Im not a wizz kid about tattoos, but if you want to know any more-just let me know.
I find texting ur mum, and telling her works better than face to face- ha! Thats what I did anyway
    xxx

  22. I used to be anti tattoo, because of people just getting them for the sake of it. But as I've got older I see them more of a symbol of a change in your life, milestone or hope. I think if they have a meaning then I'm all for them. Saying that I have none myself and probably wouldn't have a guts to get one! xx

  25. Go for it!
I love tattoos. I currently have 2, but I plan on having a few more. I used to worry about what people would think, if they would judge me, but I've come to realise that individual style is really important and something you shouldn't hide from. You should be who you want to be, and not worry about what other people think :) xo
