The weekend is here and it couldn't come soon enough! Last night I was completely and utterly ready for a) some sleep and b) some sunshine for 2 days. So far so good for the weather - I've managed to do about 13645 loads of washing since I got up at 7.30am and I'm contemplating heading out for a jog before the sun cranks things up a notch.

Plans for the rest of the day include cooking some lovely food and enjoying the sunshine with Jonathan, Lily and Lola. Lola adores the sun and always finds a sunny spot to sit in. I have to be careful though - Pugs don't do so well in the heat so I make sure they don't overdo it :) This is Lola's current location:

I've had a complete health kick of a week where (possibly due to the warmer weather) all I've wanted to do is drink water (and not my beloved tea!), eat salad and go for a jog. I've started having salads for lunch at work mainly involving cottage cheese and a host of other goodies - beats a boring sandwich any day.

The Race for Life event I'm doing is approaching and I want to be as fit as possible by then. Any tips for running up hills? They well and truly wipe me out. Must keep fingers crossed that the Sheffield course is flat..

Have a lovely day whatever you're up to!

  1. Aww Lola looks adorable. <3 My dog loves the sun too but as he's no longer a spring chicken, we have to be careful or he suffers for days afterwards. :( x x

  4. Lola looks so cute in the sun. My parents have just got a Golden Retriever puppy, so we've been trying to keep an eye on how much time he spends in the sun.

  5. I can see that she is enjoying herself sunbathing. My mum says that my dog (at home) recently stays indoors all the time and all he does is drink water. ;) X

Your salad looks very yummy - I need a bit of inspiration for making some nice food (apart from tomato, cucumber and lettuce... Blah!)

  8. Lola is just adorable! My guinea pigs flopped in the garden this morning, it was so cute to see but had to move them to the shade after a while as their little ears get sunburn easily!
Hope you are having a lovely weekend xx

  13. I used to be in a running club and the tips the leader gave us for running up hills, or inclines as they like to call them, is take smaller steps and power yourself on with your arms. Resist the urge to get up the hill faster to get it over with. I tend to not look too far in front of me when going up a hill, I'd rather not see how far I still have to go x
